While Yoga Nida is translated as Yogic Sleep, it is not ordinary sleep. Ordinary sleep is static; Yoga Nidra is a dynamic state where you enter a state of oneness, but you are also alert and conscious.
This 45 minute meditation can be done at any time of day and is traditionally performed lying down. The first 10 minutes will begin with very simple movement to open and prepare the body followed by guided body, breath, and awareness techniques designed to effortlessly guide you into expanded awareness and deep relaxation.
The body sleeps, the mind is at rest, and consciousness is alive and active. Suitable for all levels.
Eye covering to block light
Two blankets (body temperature drops during Nidra)
A quiet room
Anything else you will need to rest in comfortable, silent, stillness.
